Advent Opportunities

As we prepare for Christmas, it is important to prepare spiritually during this time of waiting. We have a lot of opportunities for you and your family.

The Road to Bethlehem

Draw close to Christ this Advent season with daily reflections and enrichment from FORMED. We’ve personally selected content to help you prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus at Christmas. We will be sending you handpicked videos, talks, and messages every day throughout Advent to nourish your spiritual life.

The Road to Bethlehem includes the following:

  • Daily Advent reflections by Dr. Tim Gray

  • Brother Francis Advent reflections for kids

  • Weekly videos, audio talks, and book excerpts related to the theme of the week

  • Action items designed to help you take the Advent message and apply it to your daily life

Rejoice! Advent

This year on the Sundays in Advent, we invite you to Rejoice! LIVE with Fr. Mark Toups as he joins us LIVE via Ascension's YouTube page. We’ll be coming together to share in the beautiful tradition of the Advent wreath to pray, unpack the Sunday Scripture reading, and prepare our hearts for the coming week of Advent. Each Sunday Father will begin by leading us together in lighting the Advent wreath and praying the prayers found on the backs of the Rejoice! Advent Prayer Cards. We look forward to seeing you there.

  • November 29th 8PM ET - The Blessing of Wreath/Lighting of the First Candle

  • December 6th 8PM ET - The Lighting of the Second Candle

  • December 13th 8PM ET - The Lighting of the Third Candle

  • December 20th 8PM ET - The Lighting of the Fourth Candle

Rejoice! Advent Meditations with the Holy Family

Experience a more peaceful, more joyful, and more meaningful Advent than ever before

Rejoice! Advent Meditations with the Holy Family is a prayer resource with daily meditations that will enrich your Advent by inviting you to experience the first Advent with Joseph and Mary, as they await the birth of their son, the Savior of the world.

Together with the guided meditation videos, this journal will help you to see the marriage of Mary and Joseph in a new light. You will ponder what was in their hearts and minds as they awaited the birth of Jesus—and you will be invited to reflect on and deepen your own relationships with others. Rejoice! will help you open your heart to the peace and joy of the Holy Family as you prepare for the coming of Jesus this Christmas.

Paradisus Dei Advent Challenge

Advent is often a time of hustle and bustle, and we miss the Advent season! Yet Jesus, Mary and Joseph want each of us to experience the Silent Night, Holy Night, where all is calm, and all is bright.

“The beginning of prayer is silence. If we really want to pray we must first learn to listen, for in the silence of the heart God speaks."- St. Teresa of Calcutta

We pray you may venture forth to Bethlehem and enter into that silence which the Holy Family experienced! Paradisus Dei invites you and your loved ones to grow in the virtue of silence through the Advent Challenge. After downloading The Advent Challenge, pray through and discuss the steps with your family to determine how each of you can make space for the Christ Child this Advent.
