Choir and Musicians
Jim McQuaide – Music Director
The Seton Parish Music Ministry welcomes all who are interested in supporting the Liturgy through song. Many opportunities exist for involvement in music here at Seton Parish. Please contact the Music Director if you have any questions.
The Adult Choir features voices of parishioners high school age and older. We sing at the 9:30a Mass from September through Pentecost. Reading music is not a necessity but is helpful. Practices are on Wednesday evenings from 6:30p to 8:00p.
Cantors lead the congregation in sung prayer at Mass which includes proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm. The ability to read music is encouraged, but is not required. Cantors rehearse with the Adult Choir on Wednesday evenings. An audition with the Music Director is required.
The Praise Choir leads the third Sunday of the month 11:15a Mass with a lively and contemporary Catholic music repertoire. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 8:00p. Instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome. An informal audition with the Music Director is required and the ability to read music is strongly recommended.
The Guitar Ensemble rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7:00p in preparation for the Saturday 5:00p Vigil Mass. Both vocalists and guitarists are welcome to join this vibrant group.
Seton Children’s Choir
The Seton Children’s Choir consists of elementary and middle school children who rehearse on Wednesday’s at 4:30p throughout the school year. Previous musical experience is not required. Occasionally, children will play various instruments. The Seton Youth Choir sings monthly at the 9:30a Mass on the third Sunday of the month.
Hand Bell Choir
All are welcome to participate in our Seton Hand Bell Choir. This group consists of parishioners who enjoy accompanying hymns and songs in a different style other than with their voices. The Hand Bell Choir rings one Sunday per month and practices on Monday evenings at 6:30p.
Anyone in the parish that plays an instrument is most welcome to participate with the Music Ministry at Mass. An audition with the Music Director is required. Please contact Jim for more information.
